When applicants have been “short-listed”, their consent to pre-employment drug testing will be obtained. Before doing so they will be given an explanation of this policy and advised of the consequences of refusing to undergo testing and of a non-negative test result. (Any subsequent offers of employment shall be conditional on consent and agreement being obtained for the other tests and inspections as above).
In the event of a non-negative result an explanation will be sought from applicant, which shall be taken into account by Oak Tree when considering where there is justifiable reason to continue with the application or to re-test the sample. If there is no such justification the employment application shall be declined.
In the event of a refusal to provide consent and agreement, the applicant concerned shall be disqualified from any further job offer consideration.
